Anyone can buy a pen, wristband, shave their head or grow a moustache to raise funds for charity (and a big congratulations to those that do), but not many are willing to take on a real extraordinary challenge and ride 3000km from Cooktown to Sydney.
 

Founding members of the C2C event and close friends, David Bonne and Scott Gilbertson, both novice cyclists, have been personally touched by life changing experiences attempting to start a family.

Choosing charities close to their heart, the ride will raise much needed funding and awareness for the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Tumbatin Clinic and the Bonnie Babes Foundation.

The Tumbatin Clinic at the Sydney Children’s Hospital provides diagnostic and assessment services, counselling and support for families of children with developmental delay and disability. The ‘Coast to Coast for Kids’ goal is to raise enough money to at least support one full time speech therapist and one social worker for 12 months.

The Bonnie Babes Foundation helps to save babies lives and counsel families dealing with infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth, pregnancy loss, neonatal loss and premature babies. Money raised by the ‘Coast to Coast for Kids’ event will contribute to purchasing new medical equipment for intensive care areas in hospitals to save babies lives, vital medical research and most importantly, the Australia wide grief counselling services and grief support groups for families suffering the traumatic loss of a baby, the birth of a premature baby or who are struggling with infertility.
